Assessment

A number of assessments are routinely carried out throughout the school cycle.

• Incoming First Year students are assessed for their academic ability.
• Third Years sit the DATS test to assess their natural abilities.
• All Senior Cycle students (Transition Year, Fifth and Sixth Years) have career assessments on a regular basis.

The results of these assessments are available to students and their parents.

In special circumstances, assessments are requested and carried out by the National Educational and Psychological Service, a division of the Department of Education.
