22nd September 2011

There were many tasks assigned to the students on the day including; identifying flora an fauna in the region, carrying out qualitative and quantitative studies, mapping the area and collecting samples. Students enjoyed the trip and were delighted with their encounters with many different organisms such as sand crabs, periwinkles, dog whelks, shrimp, barnacles, limpets and fish. The information collected will be used to generate a portfoilio of work on 'the study of an ecosystem’ as part of their leaving cert. course.
